Gary A. Bague

Biographical Information

Mr. Bague is a Partner in Haight Brown & Bonesteel’s Los Angeles office.  He is a member of the Risk Management & Insurance Law and the Construction Law Practice Groups.  Mr. Bague regularly advises insurance carriers and insureds, providing coverage opinions on issues arising under general liability, homeowners, workers compensation, life, health and disability insurance policies.  He works with risk managers and corporate general counsel to draft and supervise various self-insurance programs, and has assisted life insurers with fraud investigations of contestable claims.

Mr. Bague represents primary and excess insurers and reinsurers, insureds, brokers and agents, in insurance coverage declaratory relief actions, as well as in first and third party extra-contractual litigation.  He has advised and represented insurers and developers, general contractors and artisan subcontractors with regard to countless issues arising in construction defect liability and coverage litigation.  He has also represented various entities in a variety of complex contract issues including contractual and equitable indemnity. 

In addition, Mr. Bague has assisted clients with the implementation of preventative strategies and measures that help reduce the likelihood and impact of litigation both before and after claims arise.  He has also provided review and analysis of in-house procedures and manuals as well as in-service training for facility staff and management.
