Peter Q. Ezzell

Biographical Information

Mr. Ezzell is the Senior Member of the Commercial Litigation, Employment & Labor and the Product Liability & Tort Litigation practice groups where he concentrates in major litigation. Mr. Ezzell is often retained just prior to trial by other law firms to rescue "troubled cases." His specialty lies in jury trials, including all types of commercial litigation, product liability, municipal and police agency torts, contractor liability, professional errors and omissions, insurance bad faith, and employment torts.

As an advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Ezzell's civil trial experience consists of 92 cases to conclusion of which 84 were jury. Over 55 cases were major trials involving sums of $1 million and above. Some of the subjects of notable cases he has recently tried include: AIDS discrimination, contractor malfeasance/defects for a golf course design management and construction, exploding tire/wheel for worldwide manufacturer of tires, hotel security system design for a nationally known hotel chain, public works facility defect for water district, and insurance bad faith. In addition to his civil practice, Mr. Ezzell has also handled criminal, habeas and domestic trials.

Mr. Ezzell is a frequent lecturer for organizations including the Continuing Education of the Bar, Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association (LATLA), California Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA), and ABOTA.

Mr. Ezzell earned his B.S. from San Diego State University in 1969 and his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1972. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
