Ms. Grover, Lead Partner in the Employment & Labor Practice Group, focuses exclusively on employment counseling and litigation. She regularly provides guidance on preventive employment practices, designed to assure compliance with the complex body of California laws and regulations and to provide employers with the best defensive posture in the event of litigation. She advises clients on a wide range of employment issues including harassment, discrimination, Family and Medical Leave and Family Rights Acts, Americans with Disabilities Act, wage and hour matters, WARN Act, workplace security, and workplace privacy. She regularly prepares and updates policies, procedures, and employment agreements, and conducts workplace training to assure that her clients comply with the most recent employment laws.
Ms. Grover has substantial experience in all phases of employment litigation, and has represented employers in administrative procedures and civil court. She has successfully defended employers in claims for discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour class actions. Her understanding of employment litigation enables her to assess cases early in the litigation and negotiate a favorable resolution, if appropriate.
As a member of the San Francisco Mayor's Task Force on Sexual Harassment, she drafted guidelines for sexual harassment training to be provided to all San Francisco employees. She also authored a resolution enacted as California Code of Civil Procedure § 1985.6 (protection for employment records) while serving as a member of the State Bar of California Conference of Delegates. Ms. Grover was awarded a Certificate of Merit by both the San Francisco Bar Association and the State Bar of California. She was also recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer for 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Ms. Grover began her legal career teaching at Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley and frequently speaks on employment issues. Some of her more recent publications include the upcoming "Workplace Investigations: A Practical Approach," for The Brief, and "Electronic Monitoring in the Workplace," for e-Dicta.
