Ms. Lucas is a partner in the Product Liability & Tort Litigation, the Commercial Litigation & Intellectual Property, and the Professional Liability Practice Groups. Ms. Lucas' practice is primarily in the defense of legal malpractice and product liability claims. She also has extensive experience in commercial litigation, including cases involving breach of contract, and unfair business practices and product infringement cases. Her trial experience includes cases involving breach of sales contracts, fraud, and RICO. She has successfully made and resisted claims for extraordinary relief such as temporary restraining orders, and preliminary and permanent injunctions.
Ms. Lucas also has extensive experience in appellate and trial court briefing. She has prepared briefs, petitions, motions and pleadings to be filed in federal and state courts throughout the country including the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Lucas’ experience includes complex litigation as well as coordination of litigation on a national and regional level. Her published decisions include:
Ms. Lucas earned her B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 1982 and her J.D. from Pepperdine University in 1986. She is a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Santa Monica Bar Association Civil Litigation Committee. Ms. Lucas is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central Districts as well as in the Ninth Circuit Court Of Appeals.
