Biographical Information

Mr. Mijanovic is a Partner in Haight Brown & Bonesteel’s Los Angeles office.  He is a member of the Product Liability & Tort, Business Solutions and Trucking & Transportation Practice Groups.  He represents corporations and individuals in tort-based litigation with an emphasis in product liability, business litigation, and transportation law.  His diverse client base ranges from Fortune 500 companies and national motor carriers to regional carriers and local businesses.

Mr. Mijanovic is a member of the firm’s Immediate Response Team, a rapid-response team for transportation accidents.  The Immediate Response Team is comprised of legal counsel, expert consultants, field adjusters and investigators, who are available twenty-four hours a day to respond to any transportation emergency to interview the driver, control the site, begin reconstruction, secure the evidence and, if requested, deal with the media.

In addition, Mr. Mijanovic has gained extensive experience litigating cases involving large fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.  His depth of knowledge and expertise in these fields gives him a unique perspective in litigation, enabling him to achieve the best results for his clients in a cost-effective manner.  His wealth of experience and specialization in the fire litigation arena also allows him to provide valuable advice to clients and experts at the critical stages of a case, including: retention of experts; cause and origin investigation of the fire scene; defending or examining fire experts; analyzing and advocating evidentiary issues such as admissibility of fire experts’ testimony under Daubert or Frye challenges; preventing or advocating for spoliation sanctions for the destruction of evidence; and presenting or defending fire cause, origin, and spread theories at trial.
