Valerie A. Moore

Biographical Information

Ms. Moore is a Partner in the Risk Management & Insurance Law Practice Group. Ms. Moore’s practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance-related legal issues, including coverage advice to insurers and representation of insurance companies in insurance coverage litigation. She also represents insurance companies in first and third party bad faith cases and insurance agents and brokers.

Currently, she is coverage counsel for one of the top ten writers of homeowner's insurance policies in California (top fifty throughout the United States). Her role in this capacity makes her available at any time to answer coverage questions that may arise regarding homeowners' policies, commercial policies, mobile home policies and personal or commercial automobile policies in California.

Ms. Moore has been featured speaker at the West Coast Casualty's Construction Defect Annual Seminar where she lectured on the national overview of established rules for determining the number of occurrences in construction defect claims. She frequently lectures on pertinent topics regarding insurance-related issues. Some of her speaking engagements include the following: "Bad Faith Update," to the Sacramento Blue Goose Claims Association; "Agents Liability: Mock Trial and Discussion," to the various local associations of the NAIW throughout California; "Insurance Coverage for Business Disputes," for the Defense Research Institute; and "Allocation of Coverage When Multiple Insurers Cover the Same Automobile Liability Loss" seminars.  Ms. Moore also provides claims regulation training to her clients on an annual basis.

Ms. Moore earned her B.A. from California State University at Fullerton in 1977 and her J.D. from Pepperdine University in 1981. She is a member of the State Bar of California and was recently admitted to the United States Supreme Court. She is also a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
