Mr. Wallace is a partner in the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His primary areas of practice are commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and legal malpractice. He has represented a considerably diverse array of financial institutions, insurers, municipalities, professionals and corporations of different types and scales worldwide. Recent representative clients include a venerable German-based machine manufacturer, a Hong Kong-based automobile accessories manufacturer, United States-based CNA Insurance, an Indian-based carpet manufacturer, and the Cairo-based Radio and Television Union of the Arab Republic of Egypt. He has an excellent track record in all courts, including a perfect success rate in jury and non-jury trials before the Superior and Bankruptcy Courts.
In bankruptcy matters, Mr. Wallace has represented both debtors and creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases. He has worked on Chapter 11 plans of reorganization, litigated and tried adversary proceedings, taken and defended Rule 2004 examinations, handled claims objections, and negotiated court-approved settlements. On the commercial side, particularly as it relates to bankruptcy practice, he has experience addressing foreclosure issues (judicial and non-judicial), and receiverships.
Mr. Wallace earned his B.A. degree from Boston University in 1983, where he majored in economics and political science. He then attended the University of Southern California where he obtained his J.D. degree in 1987, and where he was a member of the Journal of Law and the Environment. He is admitted to practice in all California state courts and the United States District Court, Central District of California. He is currently a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. He is also the firm’s representative to the American Law Firm Association (ALFA), Bankruptcy Practice Group.
