Chandra Moore is a Partner in the Product Liability & Tort Litigation Practice Group, the Construction Law Practice Group and the Employment and Labor Law Practice Group. She worked as an attorney in the Los Angeles office from 1999 until 2004 and then relocated to the San Diego office. Ms. Moore has jury trial experience as lead counsel and has successfully written and argued dispositive motions such as motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, demurrers, motions challenging venue and jurisdiction and motions to strike allegations in complaints. Although she is skilled in litigation, Ms. Moore is constantly striving to resolve cases in the most cost effective manner for her clients. In that regard, she has extensive involvement in dispute resolution via arbitration, mediation and settlement conferences.
Her practice in the Product Liability & Tort Litigation Practice Group is concentrated in the defense of corporate and insurance based clients, primarily in the areas of product liability, premises liability, toxic tort and vehicular accidents. However, she has also successfully represented plaintiffs in tort litigation. In the area of Employment and Labor law, she has represented both companies and employees in litigation and dispute resolution. She has effectively represented clients on a wide range of employment issues including harassment, discrimination, Family and Medical Leave and Family Rights Acts, Americans with Disabilities Act and wage and hour matters. She has drafted employment agreements and updated employee handbooks and manuals. Ms. Moore has experience in all phases of employment litigation, and has represented employers and employees in administrative procedures (including appellate level) and civil court. In the area of Construction Law, she has represented subcontractors, general contractors and developers in litigation involving construction defects.
In 2008, Ms. Moore presented "Defendant's Challenges And Responses To Complaint" to the Employment/Labor Law practice group. This discussion included forum selection, challenging jurisdiction, state and federal court procedure, exhausting administrative remedies, workers’ compensation as exclusive remedy, arbitration clauses, statute of limitations, collateral estoppel and res judicata, demurrers, motions for summary judgment, answers and affirmative defenses. In 2007, Ms. Moore conducted a led a continuing legal education class entitled "Lessons Learned from Trial." Additionally, Ms. Moore graduated from HBB’s "Advanced Trial Skills" Course in 2004.
