Dennis K. Wheeler is the Firmwide Managing Partner of Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP where he oversees the daily operation of the firm and is responsible for long-term, strategic planning for all five of the offices located throughout California. As a practitioner, Mr. Wheeler is a Senior Partner and his practice is concentrated in the defense of civil litigation involving general liability matters as it applies to the entertainment industry, gaming industry, pharmaceutical and medical devices, educational law, as well as defending skilled nursing facilities and residential care for the elderly facilities. He has also handled professional liability matters including legal and insurance errors and omissions. Clients represented include Hollywood Park Racetrack, Hollywood Park Casino, Los Angeles Unified School District, North American Health Care, Inc. and Bentley Homes. Clients for whom Mr. Wheeler has worked for in the past include Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Warner Lambert, Sterling Drug , Smith & Nephew , Crystal Park Casino, MGM Grand Hotel, Universal Studios, New Line Cinema, and Metro-Goldwyn Mayer.
Currently, Mr. Wheeler is on the Panel Trial Counsel for Tort Claims for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). LAUSD tends to direct its most serious tort cases to Mr. Wheeler including student molestations, violence on campus resulting in serious injuries, and accidents resulting in serious injuries to students. Mr. Wheeler has managed complex mass tort cases in a number of areas including initial file evaluation, discovery, expert discovery and preparation for trial through resolution. He has tried in excess of 50 cases to verdict.
