Mr. Martin is a partner at Haight Brown & Bonesteel, LLP whose practice covers a broad range of civil matters. He regularly represents Fortune 500 companies in high-exposure actions involving product liability, employment, business, and insurance matters. From pre-lawsuit strategy development to trial or ultimate resolution of a case, Mr. Martin is consistently praised for his ability to efficiently achieve successful results.

Mr. Martin is the leader of the firm’s Product Liability Practice Group. He also is an active member of the Employment & Labor, Business Solutions, Transportation and Elder Care Practice Groups.

Among other products, Mr. Martin frequently defends manufacturers and distributors of personal watercraft, all-terrain vehicles, medical and dental devices, railroad cars, sporting and camping equipment, plate-heat exchangers, mixers, automotive parts, construction equipment, farm equipment, ovens, above ground swimming pools, and heavy machinery. Mr. Martin is also a frequent lecturer on product liability matters.

Mr. Martin’s employment practice includes both pre-lawsuit advisement and litigation involving all areas of employment and labor under California law. This includes disability, employment discrimination, racial discrimination and harassment, sexual discrimination and harassment, age discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, whistle blowing, wage and hour, overtime and collective bargaining matters. Mr. Martin also regularly provides preventative employment advice and consultation to clients, conducts neutral fact-finding investigations for employee discrimination or retaliation claims, and has represented clients at Labor Board, Union, and other administrative hearings. Further, Mr. Martin monitors employee interviews on behalf of clients to ensure compliance with California law.

Mr. Martin also handles a wide variety of business cases with significant experience litigating partnership disputes, fraud and breach of contract actions, and mortgage fraud claims. He also has represented clients at administrative hearings before the California Departments of Real Estate and Corporations.

Mr. Martin is a 2002 graduate, cum laude, of Southwestern University School of Law. He attended Weber State University on a full athletic scholarship in football and was the school’s starting quarterback for the 1994 and 1995 seasons. Mr. Martin also played in the Arena Football League (AFL) from 1997-1999 prior to entering law school.
