Congratulations to Skip and Bryan Martin and Jules Zeman for their successful appellate result in Mora v. Hollywood Bed. Plaintiff lost his dominant arm in a machine. He filed suit against his employer, Hollywood Bed & Spring Company, and its owner, Larry Harrow, for a violation of Labor Code ยง 4558, alleging that defendants knowingly failed to install or knowingly removed a point-of-operation guard. The trial court initially denied defendants' Motions for Summary Judgment, but upon reconsideration granted them. Plaintiff appealed. The Appellate Court just affirmed the dismissal in a published opinion. Jules and Bryan were responsible for preparing the Summary Judgment Motions and the Appellate Brief. At the request of the client, Skip presented the oral argument in the trial court and in the appellate court. Congratulations to all! | |
