Elizabeth Rhodes is a member of the firm’s Transportation Law, Fire Litigation, General Liability and Product Liability Practice Groups. She routinely defends high exposure matters that involve personal injury and catastrophic injury arising from practice areas including trucking and transportation law, product liability, general liability and premises liability.

Elizabeth’s clients include insurance carriers, trucking and transportation companies, Fortune 500 companies, national and regional retailers and individual business owners. She has prior experience with insurance coverage, bad faith, and the defense of public entities and their employees which enhances her overall background as an accomplished litigator.

During her 10+ years of experience in civil litigation, Elizabeth has navigated the state and federal courts throughout California, handling matters from the early stages of pre-litigation and litigation all the way through complete case preparation and handling as second chair counsel in complex trials. Elizabeth has also successfully defended litigation through the appeals process to the Supreme Court of California resulting in published decisions.

Before becoming a lawyer, Elizabeth was a senior editor at a large publishing house for textbooks at varying grade levels, and handled the creation of books from idea to final publication. Doing so required a strong capacity for team-building, cooperative and constant communication,  and an ability to build creative solutions in a constantly changing playing field. She believes that this background informs her process as a defense strategist and litigator, and in communicating and working with her clients to produce effective and efficient results.

When not practicing law, Elizabeth tries to enjoy as much of the beauty and natural resources that Los Angeles has to offer in the form of hiking, biking, sailing, and swimming in the ocean, with the cross-activity of volunteering and teaching in order to protect the resources that allow these activities to be enjoyed in the city environment.

Elizabeth is also an avid music lover and former piano player (who hopes to start playing again in her spare time).
