Haight Partner Greg Rolen who is general counsel for the Orange County Board of Education recently testified before the California State Assembly Education Committee on the disruptive nature of Senate Bill 907 which necessitates mid-cycle redistricting. His testimony offered that mid-cycle redistricting is an expensive and onerous process and is oftentimes a voting fiasco for voters due to 11th hour re-mapping issues. Mr. Rolen emphasized to the Education Committee that the process can ultimately be very disruptive and causes unnecessary confusion for the community and expense for California tax payers.
