Stephen M. Tye is a member of the Construction Law, General Liability, and Product Liability practice groups. He has experience in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation investigations, initial evaluations, discovery, law and motion, trial preparation, second-chairing trials, and writing appeal briefs.
Stephen has defended both national and local corporations in a variety of litigation involving breach of contract, construction defects, premises liability, product liability, land-lord tenant. In particular, Stephen has extensive experience assisting contractors with projects involving mechanics liens, stop payment notices, delays, prompt payment, breach of contract, and construction defects and assisting national retailers in premises liability actions, including second-chairing a jury trial for a national home-improvement retailer in Fresno and a national pharmacy chain in San Jose.
While in law school, Stephen was an extern for Judge Julie Emede in Santa Clara Superior Court. He is also a member of the Protective Order Project, which represents victims of domestic violence seeking restraining orders.
Stephen was born in raised in the Bay Area. He enjoys diving, road biking, backpacking, and the Golden State Warriors.
