Miya Deng is a member of the firm’s Transportation Law, Fire Litigation, and Business Solutions Practice Groups. Her practice spans a wide range of complex civil litigation matters, including catastrophic personal injury, high-exposure damages, commercial litigation, and business disputes. She handles cases involving trucking and transportation, wrongful death, destructive fires, and complex commercial claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Deng developed substantial experience in medical malpractice defense and administrative proceedings involving the Medical Board of California and the Board of Registered Nursing. She has successfully managed a diverse caseload, working closely with insurance carriers and healthcare professionals, and consistently delivering favorable outcomes.
Ms. Deng represents a broad spectrum of clients, including Fortune 500 corporations, national and regional transportation and trucking companies, insurance carriers, small to mid-sized businesses, and individuals.
Ms. Deng is admitted to practice law in both California and the People’s Republic of China. With dual legal qualifications and a nuanced understanding of U.S. and Chinese legal systems, Ms. Deng also offers valuable insight in cross-border matters and international disputes, particularly those involving Chinese entities or individuals.
Ms. Deng handles litigation in state and federal courts throughout California. She manages her cases through all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit evaluation and strategy through discovery, law and motion and trial preparation. She has taken and defended depositions of parties, percipient witnesses, expert witnesses, and corporate representatives.
Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Deng enjoys playing golf, pickleball, and snowboarding. She is a national park enthusiast and loves exploring the outdoors. She adores her Shiba Inu, Bubu.
