Luis M. Chavez is a member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. He has nearly 25 years of experience as a litigation attorney in civil claims and workers’ compensation matters. His wide-ranging experience includes arbitration, mediation, and jury trials in civil litigation and arbitration and bench trials in workers’ compensation.

Mr. Chavez has represented national and international insurance carriers, municipalities, counties, school districts, national and local retailers, hospitality companies, and construction companies. He is adept at client communication and aggressively defends matters to achieve economic resolutions that are expeditious and in the best interest of his clients. Mr. Chavez has taken hundreds of depositions and has effectively used this discovery tool to achieve early resolution.

Mr. Chavez has graduated from Long Beach City College, the University of California, and the University of Southern California Law Center. He holds an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts, a Bachelor of Arts in Chicano Studies (high distinction) and a Juris Doctor in Law.  He is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Chavez was born in Los Angeles, CA and grew up in Long Beach, CA. He is the son of a laborer and homemaker and is the oldest of four children. When he is not working, Mr. Chavez enjoys attending sporting events, concerts, musicals, watching films, practicing martial arts and playing sports. He is a supporter of Real Madrid, the Dodgers, the Lakers and of the Galaxy. Mr. Chavez is a youth soccer coach and certified soccer referee and referee instructor. He volunteers in the community with AYSO, Long Beach Ballet and other schools and organizations. Most important to him, however, is spending time with his wife and two sons.
