Bee Kim is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group, where she concentrates her practice on the defense of workers’ compensation claims. She handles all aspects of workers’ compensation law, including claims involving alleged violations of California Labor Code sections 132a and 4553 et seq., pertaining to employer discrimination and serious and willful misconduct.
Her clients include self-insured employers—both with and without third-party administrators—and employers who maintain high retention levels that demand rigorous claims oversight. She represents clients across a wide range of industries, including multiple Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to joining Haight, she practiced as a workers’ compensation defense attorney, representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. In that role, she gained a deep understanding of the workers’ compensation defense process and refined her ability to manage claims efficiently at all levels of complexity—from conducting depositions and drafting petitions and motions to negotiating settlements and representing clients at hearings and trials. She vigorously defended contested issues when warranted, while remaining focused on securing early settlements when they were both cost-effective and aligned with her clients’ best interests.
In addition to her litigation experience, she advised clients on a broad range of legal matters, including business transactions, corporate formation, immigration, investment structuring and regulatory compliance, such as ITAR. Her clients spanned diverse industries, including a company recognized as a winner of the Foreign Comparative Testing program for its groundbreaking defense technology.
In her free time, Bee enjoys stargazing at Joshua Tree National Park and jogging along the picturesque beaches of Southern California. She also serves as a lyric soprano with the LA Lawyers Philharmonic and Legal Voices, where she merges her lifelong passion for music with her dedication to the community in Los Angeles.
