Busra Sahin

Overview

Busra Sahin is a member of the firm’s General Liability and Transportation Law practice groups. She represents clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters, drawing on her experience in insurance defense, premises liability, habitability disputes, and complex liability claims.

Prior to joining Haight, Ms. Sahin practiced at a civil defense litigation firm, where she handled matters through various stages of litigation. Her experience includes developing case strategies, drafting and arguing dispositive and discovery motions, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court proceedings. She has worked closely with insurance professionals, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses to evaluate claims, navigate litigation challenges, and pursue favorable resolutions. Her experience also extends to mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.

Ms. Sahin’s legal background spans both private practice and corporate legal environments. She also held positions as a paralegal and legal assistant, gaining additional experience in legal research, case management, document preparation, and litigation support.

Before establishing her legal career in California, Busra practiced law in Turkey, representing corporate clients in commercial and employment-related disputes. Her work involved advocating for clients in contested proceedings, drafting and arguing motions, and managing debt recovery and enforcement matters. This international experience provides her with a broader perspective on legal practice and client representation.

Ms. Sahin earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she served as a staff editor for the UCI Law Journal of International, Transnational, and Comparative Law. During her studies, she also participated in pro bono initiatives through the Reproductive Justice Clinic and the Mississippi Center for Justice. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Law from Gediz University in Izmir, Turkey.
