Dismissal – Claim of Professional Negligence

Decedent (44) was treated for diabetic foot ulcers and then discharged home.  Approximately two weeks later, decedent returned to the ED for infection and was scheduled for an incision and drainage but died on the operating table before the procedure began. Ms. Haskins investigated the matter and the plaintiff (decedent’s husband) finding information which lead to a dismissal for waiver of costs as to her hospital client. Because the matter continued as to co-defendants, Ms. Haskins applied for and obtained a Good Faith Order from the Court.
