Obtained Dismissal for Church in Employment Law Matter Alleging Wrongful Termination

Obtained a Dismissal following Demurrers on behalf of the defendant church in an employment law matter where it was alleged that the plaintiffs were wrongfully terminated. The causes of action included those for defamation, breach of contract and wrongful interference with a prospective economic advantage. On behalf of the defendant church, it was argued that the First Amendment of the United States Constitution bars a civil court from reviewing and intervening in any employment disputes between a church and its ministers, no matter how the causes of action are pled.
