Plaintiff claimed that she was visiting a family member at the hospital when she utilized the restroom and slipped and fell on soapy water injuring her knee and requiring surgery. Ms. Haskins discovered that plaintiff’s “witness” was also a claimant in a slip and fall claim in the restroom of a restaurant where plaintiff was her “witness”. After deposing both women, it was determined that they were both represented by the same counsel and using the same “experts” which resulted in the matter being resolved for a nominal amount at mediation three weeks before trial.
