Gary LaHendro is a member of the Risk Management & Insurance Law practice group. He focuses his practice on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. His experience includes conducting coverage investigations, drafting coverage opinions and position letters, and providing advice on commercial general liability, cyber, directors and officers, employment practices liability, excess, errors and omissions, auto, property and representations and warranties policies. Gary also represents insurers in declaratory relief, contribution and insurance bad faith lawsuits venued in state, federal and appellate courts.
Gary also monitors the defense of insureds with respect to third-party lawsuits venued throughout the United States.
Gary’s clients include numerous carriers within the United States and London Markets for whom he provides insurance coverage advice on commercial general liability, excess, errors and omissions, employment practices liability, cyber, auto and property policies.
In addition to coverage work, Gary has over 20 years of litigation experience as lead defense counsel on cases involving soil and groundwater contamination, professional liability, construction defect and personal injury mold cases. He is also a skilled appellate attorney who specializes in insurance bad faith and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.
Prior to joining Haight, Gary served as senior counsel for a Los Angeles based insurance defense firm where he gained valuable experience as coverage counsel.
Community Involvement
Gary has been a certified mediator since 2000 and volunteers his time working for community outreach centers set up to help people and businesses resolve disputes.
